On Sunday, 9 November, Camden Music student Jasper played a distinguished role in the London Borough of Camden’s Remembrance Sunday commemorations. Jasper, an accomplished young musician and member of several borough ensembles – including Camden Youth Brass, Advanced Jazz, and Camden Youth Concert Band – performed the Last Post and Reveille during the Act of Remembrance at the London and North Western Railway Company War Memorial outside Euston Station.
The civic multi-faith service began at St Pancras Parish Church, followed by a procession to the war memorial where wreaths were laid by the Mayor, civic representatives, and members of the Armed Forces. Jasper’s performance marked the solemn moment of silence at 11:00 a.m., honouring those who gave their lives in service.
Camden Music is proud to continue its tradition of providing a young trumpeter for this important occasion each year and is pleased to support the borough in commemorating this day of remembrance.
Jenny Morgan, Music Centre Manager, said:
“Remembrance Sunday is a deeply moving and solemn occasion. We were immensely proud of Jasper for performing at such an important event. He approached the role with great professionalism and delivered a beautifully lyrical performance that captured the spirit of the day.”
