We have three holiday courses a year for pupils ages 6 to 18 years. The courses take place at Camden School for Girls, Sandall Road, NW5 2D
These groups help young people improve their instrumental skills, allow them to make music with others and perform in a concert.
Camden Holiday Voices For secondary school singers who are interested in RnB, soul and other popular styles of music, who want to improve their vocal strength, health and technique and understand more about singing in harmony. Members learn about microphone technique and learn how to write songs too. This group would particularly suit GCSE musicians.
Camden Philharmonia For primary aged violin, viola and cello players of Grade 1+ level who can read printed music.
Holiday Guitars For guitar players who can read printed music and/or tab, and who have been learning for at least a year. Both classical and electric guitarists are welcome.
Senior Woodwind and Brass For secondary school woodwind and brass players who are in Years 6 – 9 and can play some tunes, up to Grade 3 standard.
Percussion Ensemble For percussion players who can read printed music and who are having regular lessons. Players will play a range of percussion including drumkit, tuned percussion and timpani in both Western classical and more popular styles. This group forms the percussion sections of Philharmonic Band and Camden Youth Orchestra, so that the players experience playing different genres and styles of music.
Philharmonic Band For brass, woodwind, and percussion players of Grade 3 – 8 level who love to play music from films and shows.
String Collective For secondary aged string players.
SuperBlast For primary-aged brass players (trumpet, cornet, trombone, euphonium, baritone, tuba) and saxophone. Members will have been learning for more than a term and can read some music or chords. Everyone who plays an instrument is welcome.
SuperStrike For primary-aged percussionists or keyboard players. Members will have been learning for more than a term and can read some music or chords. Everyone who plays an instrument is welcome.
SuperStrings For primary-aged string players (violin, viola, cello, double bass). Members will have been learning for more than a term and can read some music or chords. Everyone who plays an instrument is welcome.
SuperStrum For primary-aged guitarists. Members will have been learning for more than a term and can read some music or chords. Everyone who plays an instrument is welcome.
SuperToot For primary-aged woodwind players (recorder, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon). Members will have been learning for more than a term and can read some music or chords. Everyone who plays an instrument is welcome.
