Our senior music centre is for pupils from year 6 to year 13. It takes place at Camden School for Girls, NW5 2DB. We offer individual lessons on a range of instruments and have many music groups to choose from.

Groups 9.00 – 10.00am
Advanced Jazz |Ages 14+ | Grade 5+ level
A dynamic group for experienced jazz players ready to stretch their improvisation skills and ensemble playing. Explore a range of jazz styles, develop your own voice and perform with a band. Advanced Jazz runs from 9.00 – 11.00am and costs £93 per term to reflect the longer session.

Chamber Choir |Year 9 and above |auditioned choir
For singers looking for a challenge. This advanced choir is ideal for choir members who want to develop their technique and sing more demanding repertoire. Members must also sing in Camden Youth Choir.
Training Orchestra |Ages 10 to 13 |Beginner to grade 2 level, or learnt in class at school
Training Orchestra is the perfect option for young musicians at the beginning of their orchestral journey. In a supportive and friendly group, players learn how to be part of an orchestra and play a range of music.

Camden Youth Choir |Year 6 and above | All welcome
A welcoming choir open to everyone. Sing a wide range of music, build confidence and enjoy being part of a vibrant, inclusive group. There are opportunities to perform in prestigious venues.

Junior Rock Band |Years 6 to 8
For young musicians aged 10 to 12 who love rock and pop. Pupils play well known songs, experiment with sound and create their own music with other band members.

Music Technology |Year 6 and above
Create, produce and experiment with your own music using industry standard software, Logic Pro. Ideal for pupils interested in production, composing and students working on GCSE or A Level coursework.
Music Theory |Year 6 and above |Grade 3 and above
This course supports students towards grade 5 theory and beyond in a clear and supportive way.

Camden Philharmonic Orchestra |Ages 14+ |Grade 4+ level
For more advanced players, Camden Philharmonic Orchestra offers the chance to play a rich and rewarding range of music. Pupils will play challenging repertoire, refine technical skills and enjoy working at a high level alongside other young musicians. The orchestra performs at the Royal Albert Hall every two years as part of the Camden Music Schools’ Festival.
Guitar Group |Year 6 and above
A group for guitarists who want to explore a variety of styles, improve reading and chord skills and have fun playing as part of a group.

Intermediate Jazz |Ages 11 to 14 years | Grade 2+ level
Step into a world of jazz and start improvising with confidence. This group introduces key jazz styles while helping players develop creativity, listening skills and the freedom to express their own musical ideas.

Junior Music-Making Collective |Year 6 and above
An open and imaginative group for pupils who love making music. Students develop confidence, musical skills and teamwork through improvisation, collaboration and creative projects.
Junior Orchestra |Ages 11 to 14 years |Grade 2 to 4 level
A friendly and supportive orchestra for players grade 2 to 4 level. Musicians build confidence while playing a wide range of music. The group helps pupils grow ensemble skills and experience the thrill of performing in a full orchestra.

Recorder Group |Year 6 and above |Pupils who have played for a year or more
Discover the full family of recorders in this exciting and welcoming group. Pupils play everything from classical music to modern pop songs.

A creative group for players to explore modern music. Pupils write, arrange and perform original material and develop their identity as a band or performer.
One to one lessons We offer one to one 30-minute lessons, subject to availability. We have instruments available to hire if you need one, or can give advice if you would like to buy your own.
